Booking the Life in the UK Test is a straightforward process, but you need to ensure you meet all the requirements before booking. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Check Eligibility
Before booking, ensure that you need to take the test. The Life in the UK Test is required for those applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or British Citizenship.
Step 2: Gather Required Documents
You’ll need:
A valid ID (passport, biometric residence permit (BRP), or European national identity card).
A UK address where you have lived for at least 3 days before booking.
A debit/credit card for payment.
Step 3: Create an Account
Visit the official UK government website: https://www.gov.uk/life-in-the-uk-test.
Click on “Start now”.
Register for an account using:
Your email address.
A secure password.
Your personal details (name, date of birth, nationality).
Step 4: Choose a Test Centre
You must select a test centre closest to your home.
There are more than 30 test centres across the UK.
Step 5: Select a Date and Time
Pick a convenient date and time (tests are available 7 days a week).
Ensure you book at least 3 days in advance.
Step 6: Pay the Test Fee
The test costs £50.
You must pay online using a debit or credit card.
Step 7: Receive Booking Confirmation
